The standard Reco-tray installation, shown top right, comprises a high quality enamelled steel Bette shower base under which is coupled a high effciency Showersave heat exchanger. The shower tray is mounted above floor level on proprietary metal legs, or on a bespoke wooden base.
If using a Bette shower base (with central 90mm drain hole) then a special Viega Tempoplex 90mm trap set is required (see page 19), such that shower tray and heat exchanger are aligned and hydraulically coupled together. Other shower bases can be used if they are at least 900mm square, with 90mm central drain holes suitable for close coupling using the Viega Tempoplex. Bette can supply shower trays with a wide range of colours and finishes to suit. Also quadrant units of at least 900mm width can also be used, as long as thay do not have corner drain holes.

Recoh-tray can also be sunken into the floor as shown opposite to create a very attractive walk in shower.
Recoh-tray with standard showers and baths
Another installation method is to install the Recoh-tray heat exchange in a void below the shower tray or bath, allowing any brand of shower tray or bath to be specified. The void will either be under a floor, or may be created above floor level, if a step up is acceptable and must be of sufficient size and accessibility. The adaptor kit shown first right will be required to plumb to standard 40mm wastepipe.
